Love Yourself Enough to Change

Mary Baker blogpost Allow, change, Control, courage, Deserve, dream, episode, Good Things, Let Go, Obstacles, Possibility

We often talk about what we wish we could have for ourselves,  yet we don’t realize that we (or rather our fear) is often in the way.  We don’t allow the good, for valid reasons we hold.  But today, I want you just to take a moment and…

Allow yourself to have good things come to you. Even though deep down you may be worried you aren’t quite ready for them. Just swing open the door and you will just scurry to make it all happen in due time. Not opening the door keeps the possibility out.

Allow Yourself to Deserve. Because you already do. We all do. You deserve to be peaceful, happy, proud of yourself, motivated and to feel needed. You also deserve success and all the freedom it brings.

Allow Yourself to Let go. In today’s podcast episode, we explore the concept of letting go of fear-based obstacles…often grieving through them and normalizing them, such as doubt, perfectionism and wanting control of the outcomes so we can feel ok.

Ok, so here’s the thing. You can’t have both. You either stay comfortable in your box that limits you, creates anxiety and depression, or you focus on ways to climb out of the box and choose to live. Here are some ways to do that..

Focus instead on your heart’s desire. What you deep down love, would love to try, create, and do. What you are secretly passionate about. Stay there. Marinate in it. Feel feelings. Make a vision board. Speak it into existence! As you do this your subconscious begins to believe it’s so possible it’s as if you’re already doing it.

Be Open to the Possibilities that may lie outside of your focus.   The best things often happen when we are planning something else. There may be a plot twist you didn’t see coming, and as long as it is in alignment with your dream go with it. That’s because it’s often the wonderful detours that enrich us, open us up to even more possibilities, and bring us to our true purpose.

So love yourself enough to dream today, to focus on what you want, practice being open, and see what transforms you!

The Difference Between Being Selfish and Taking Care of Yourself

Many people are afraid of becoming selfish. In fact, I’ve worked with countless clients who worry that if they start setting boundaries, honoring their needs, or taking better care of themselves, they’ll somehow become self-centered. What I often tell them is this: People who are truly selfish rarely worry about being selfish. The people who […]

How to Rebuild Self-Trust (Even If You’ve Let Yourself Down Before) Have you ever promised yourself you were going to do something… and then didn’t? Maybe you said you were going to start setting boundaries. Maybe you promised yourself you would leave a relationship that wasn’t healthy. Maybe you swore this would be the year […]

Action Builds Confidence: Why Change Doesn’t Happen Through Thinking Alone

Most people don’t struggle because they don’t know enough. They struggle because knowing and doing are two very different things. You can read the books. Listen to the podcasts. Journal. Reflect. Understand exactly why you do what you do. And still find yourself stuck. Not because you’re failing. Not because you’re lazy. But because growth […]

About

My passion has been to help others uncover who they truly are, lay claim to their gifts and passions, and ultimately, their purpose. Because, I believe, a sense of purpose is what brings life, gets us out of bed and helps us to make sense of an otherwise stressful and overwhelming world.
